HD Sport ™ (America's Most Popular Mud Motor)
Everywhere you look, you will see an HD Sport, the dominant and most popular mud motor. The Sport features the only cast-aluminum belt drive short tail in the industry - engineered and manufactured for quality - top to bottom. The Sport features an electric clutch and power tilt and trim. The Sport is the only mud motor with its controls on the end of the handle, right next to the operator. The outdrive is mounted on polyurethane vibration isolators for the smoothest ride on the water, another Sport exclusive.
The Sport's weighted back drive is unmatched when it comes to running mud and weeds. But yet, balanced enough where an operator can lift the drive with one hand to clear obstacles. The 27" drive provides ample length to reach out and get a new bite, but short enough to allow easy steering and unmatched maneuverability.
No matter what the class of engine size, no other short tail mud motor will touch the speed and power of this motor. Its custom gearing and Mercury Big Blade propeller will outrun any mud motor on the water, no matter what the boat, load or water condition. The HD Sport is available from 23 to 45 horse. Performance motors are available in the 4000, 5000 and 6000 classes. Mud Buddy offers 9 different performance enhancement packages for its motors, allowing you to pick the level of power you want. Mini HD Lite ™
(Lightest Mud Motor Built - Nearly 100 Pounds Lighter)
This little powerhouse was designed for 10' to 16' boats. The Mini HD Lite is just that, a small aluminum and steel frame that is both lightweight, easy to drive, performance oriented and available at a great price. The Mini is a balanced drive without a clutch and has manual trim. Simple and easy to run. The Mini is equipped with our exclusive Quick Trim which allows the operator to pull a lever which lowers the drive instantly for four-wheel-drive in mud. And when you are out of tough water, simply flip the Quick Trim and the drive returns to the full-speed trim angle. That easy and that quick. From 9 to 27 horse.
Hunter ™
(Simple - Basic Design)
This frame design features the same cast aluminum outdrive as our traditional HD Sport except is slightly less weighted back and is fitted with a manual Quick Trim ™. The Hunter's frame is mounted closer to the boat for less boat draft. The Hunter comes standard with manual trim with a fine adjustment trim knob and our exclusive fast acting Quick Trim. The Hunter is available with an electric clutch option. If you want basic, simple, yet loaded with features like neutral and a cast aluminum outdrive, the Hunter is made for you. Available from 23 to 45 horse.
Quick Trim ™
Simply the best way to lower the prop for four-wheel-drive in a split second. Competitor manual trims require from 12 to 14 cranks up and down to lower and raise the motor when in mud. Fun the first time, but a pain for thousands of times later on when you need to lower or raise the drive. Many of you have seen those guys cranking away when the going gets tough. Not with the Mud Buddy Hunter or Mini HD Lite models.
Simply stated, we want you to spend your time running our motor, not cranking, so we developed the innovative Quick Trim. The Mud Buddy Quick Trim allows you to lower the prop for maximum traction when in mud by just pushing the stainless Quick Trim lever located on the side of the clamp mount. When you are back at full speed simply pull out the Quick Trim lever and you are back at your last high-speed trim setting. That easy and that fast.
